Plants tell their stories
Immersive projections, audiovisual content and interactive exhibits take visitors from the origins of life on Earth to today’s climate crisis. Plants tell their own story: from the first photosynthetic organisms to the creation of botanical gardens, and from the insights of Theophrastus, Linnaeus, von Humboldt and Darwin to the challenges we face today.

THE EXHIBITION
A MUSEUM EXPERIENCE DESIGNED DOWN TO THE LAST DETAIL Sala Tineo welcomes visitors of all ages. Children, students and adults can explore interactive timelines, browse digital herbaria, discover how plants sustain ecosystems and understand why biodiversity matters to the planet’s future. Designed to introduce and complement a visit to one of Europe’s most important and fascinating botanical gardens, the installation brings together science, technology and storytelling to reveal the central role of plants in life on Earth.
A collaborative project
Il Pianeta delle Piante began with an idea by Paolo Inglese and ODD Agency. It was developed through a joint design and curatorial process with Unipa Heritage – the University Museum System, in collaboration with CoopCulture.
ODD contributed to the concept and curation, overseeing creative and artistic direction, content coordination and writing, visual identity, graphic and audiovisual production, and the development of technological and interactive components. The exhibition design was developed by ODD Agency in collaboration with Manfredi Leone and Degma Studio.
We developed the project in close collaboration with the management and scientific committee of Unipa Heritage and the Botanical Garden: Michelangelo Gruttadauria, Rosario Schicchi, Paolo Inglese, Manlio Speciale and Manfredi Leone. The University’s Buildings Department provided support, while the Unipa Heritage team contributed scientific and technical expertise.
