- A story of Palermo’s rebirth and cultural exchanges.
The story of rebirth
The creative idea centres on the concept of rebirth associated with Holy Week celebrations. The performance seeks to highlight the Renaissance heritage of Piazza Pretoria, which, together with its fountain, is one of the city’s most important examples of the style.
Through a narrative of images and music, the Renaissance is linked to the Christian concept of resurrection, as well as to the transition into spring, celebrated throughout history and around the world with festivals and rites of passage associated with this time of year.

A world in a single city
The story follows periods of renewal in Palermo’s history, tracing their connections to the Mediterranean migrations that brought different cultures together. Architectural imagery reveals these exchanges through the monuments that have come to symbolise the city. ODD Agency’s first video mapping project, Rinasce Palermo is a declaration of love for the city where the studio began, and an early expression of its approach to telling the stories of historic places.
