From December 20, 2025 to January 6, 2026, Palermo once again celebrated the holiday season with a new edition of The Theatre of Light, the artistic lighting and video projection installation conceived and produced by Odd Agency.
An established and highly anticipated project, The Theatre of Light transformed the Quattro Canti into a large open-air urban stage, blending contemporary technology with cultural storytelling and architectural heritage.
A CONSTANTLY EVOLVING FORMAT
With its 2025 edition, The Theatre of Light once again proves the strength of a format capable of renewing itself year after year through new artistic themes, while maintaining a strong and recognizable identity.

A TRIBUTE TO ARAB-NORMAN ART
The 2025 edition introduced a new artistic theme inspired by Palermo’s Arab-Norman heritage, recognized by UNESCO as a cultural itinerary of outstanding universal value and a symbol of the city’s layered historical identity.
A theme that prepares the city for the celebration of the European Year of the Normans in 2027.
Through light, the Baroque façades of the Quattro Canti were animated by geometric patterns, decorative elements and visual suggestions inspired by Norman Sicily, from the mosaics of the Martorana to the bestiary and ornamental motifs of the Palatine Chapel and the Hall of Roger.
Light becomes a narrative medium, capable of evoking Palermo’s Mediterranean identity while engaging in a respectful dialogue with its architecture.
