Rinasce Palermo is a projection mapping project promoted by the Chair of the Municipal Council of Palermo and organized under the patronage of AMG Energia, AMAP and SISPI.
A Tale of Rebirth
The concept of rebirth, bound to the Holy Week celebrations, underlies the creative idea. The performance aims to enhance the Renaissance design of Piazza Pretoria, which, together with its Fountain, is one of the most important examples of that style in the city.

A narration with images and music connects the Renaissance to the Christian concept of resurrection, but also the transition to the spring celebrated for a very long time with feasts and rites of passage related to that time of the year.

A whole world in a city
The focus of the storytelling is the phases of renewal of the city and how they are connected to the moments when the migrations of the Mediterranean have allowed different cultures to meet.
These phases are represented with architectural elements that tell the cultural contaminations of Palermo through monuments that have become its symbol.
Rinasce Palermo is the first projection mapping Odd Agency ever made and we can consider it as a declaration of love to the city that saw its birth, the first practical demonstration of another way to tell the monumental heritage.
